OINGO BOINGO:
Good For Your Soul
Danny Elfman's twitchy, big-beat numbers (apologies to Devo and Zappa) can heat up a dance floor, but leave a sour aftertaste. Beneath the beat, these frantic recitations of modern absurdities offer little more than snotty posturing and an unpleasant contempt for everyday folks. By the way, "No Spill Blood" comes from the same source as Devo's "Jocko Homo": the 1933 movie classic Island of Lost Souls.
