Oingo Boingo front man Danny Elfman transfers his quirky writing and lead vocals to a solo LP here and the result is a hook laden disc which rocks with manic intensity. Steve Bartek’s guitar playing is of special note, yet Elfman’s writing and delivery are the stars from the opening "Gratitude" to the thickly layered "Go Away." A handful of excellent songs that fit into the popular mode should make “So-Lo” a winning debut.
