The day after Lennon was shot I saw a pile of BAM magazines lying face up in a store. On the cover was the band Oingo Boingo. One of the band members, with a smirk on his face, pointed a gun at the viewer. In shock over the events of the night before, I couldn't bear to pick it up.

I have never liked Oingo Boingo's music, and judging from their interviews I'd read before, I doubt I would like them as people either. Any band that's been around for seven years and is still headlining Madame Wong's is really going nowhere.

It's all a joke to these cretins, their blatantly derivative music as well as their playing with tools of death on a magazine cover. Years from now, they'll be long forgotten while The Beatles' and Lennon's music will live forever.
