OINGO BOINGO:
Nothing to Fear

Billboard Magazine
17/07/1982

This eight-man band from the West Coast plays highly rhythmic, theatrical rock, making good use of a three-man horn section. On its second LP it comes up with 10 strong songs, with both lyrics and compelling dance tracks. Oingo Boingo's music is hectic, but not cluttered. The arrangements are the key here.

The following excerpt is unrelated, but from the same issue as the review.

A tip of Track's hat to Jed The Fish, DJ at KROQ-FM (Los Angeles), who displayed aplomb by publicly requesting an advance copy of the new Oingo Boingo album. Group bassist Kerrie Hatch [sic] brought his own copy to the station within two hours of the requests.
